Jewellery Care

Put your jewellery on last, after perfume, cosmetics and lotions have been applied and allowed to settle, and remove it first before washing your hands or going to sleep.

• Remove jewellery before strenuous activity or exercise
• Remove jewellery before swimming or entering a spa or hot tub
• Remove jewellery before showering or bathing
• Remove jewellery before harsh cleaning or exposure to household chemicals, chlorine or bleach

For most pieces, gently wipe with a soft, lint-free cloth after wearing to remove oils and residue. Where a gemstone or setting allows, a soft brush and mild, non-abrasive solution can be used with care, followed by thorough drying.

We do not recommend ultrasonic or steam cleaning devices for general use, as suitability varies significantly depending on the gemstones and construction of each piece — some stones and settings can be damaged by this equipment.

Different gemstones have different sensitivities to heat, chemicals, light and impact. If you are uncertain how to care for a particular stone in your piece, please contact Mafaz Jewellery for guidance specific to your jewellery.

Store each piece separately in a soft pouch or lined compartment to prevent scratching, and keep jewellery away from direct sunlight, heat and humidity when not in use.

Periodically check clasps, prongs and settings for looseness or wear, particularly for pieces worn often. Early attention helps prevent the loss of a gemstone or damage to the setting.
